Eagle Mountain Ranch Improvements
Our next project was to improve the sheep barn behind the shop. We needed horse stalls and feed system for the horses. It was the quickest and least costly to start with the existing barn.
After Mike and Shirley’s house and shop burned in January 28, 2006, they needed a place to live. In 1982 a 36 acre parcel of land was sold out of the existing farm. An elderly couple built a 6,000 sq. ft. home on the site. After the couple passed away in 2007, Mike and Shirley were able to purchase the house and acreage, which now brings the farm back together. The couple had no immediate family to inherit the house, so an agreement was made to purchase the contents as well. That meant everything including clothing, personal items, and lots of trash. The entire family pooled together and the work began. There was a lot of work to be done to the site and the house. We started with clean up and excavating work. We rented a dozer for a month and Jason stayed busy. New culverts had to be installed and the road needed widened. We also put a road in to go around the house. Jason also opened up the mountain roads and widened them, then added new culverts.
